Intro to CanSkate
What is Intro to CanSkate?
Intro to CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. With the support and encouragement of on-ice parents/guardians, Skate Dauphin is able to introduce the basics of skating to a younger age group!
Who’s it for?
For pre-school children who are not old enough to participate in the CanSkate program.
Who teaches it?
NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants.
What can you expect?
Both parents/guardians and children can expect action, movement, and fun! Lessons are given in a small group format with a coach-to-student ratio of a maximum 1:10. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, upbeat music, and a wide variety of activities that create a motivational environment and promote learning.
What do you need to participate?
All you and your child need are skates, skate guards, a CSA-approved hockey helmet (optional but recommended for parent/guardian), long pants, mittens, and warm sweater or jacket. Dress in layers – it will get warm!
